Wich version of photoshop would be best for me? - all customized car photos online

I just want to be able to customize cars and retouch photos from the family, nothing serious. But I love the idea of a superposition of layers of things, and only the original or whatever. But I never did anything other than MS Paint, in reality, what we do great things with patience, but I need more functions, such as the HP link. but any help or advice would be good. Perhaps another program, cheaper. Tho something with a free trial version can be checked.
